Leighow Veterinary Hospital was established in 1927 by George M. Leighow, V.M.D, providing both small and large animal veterinary services. The original hospital was located on Old Bloom Road, near the Leighow family farm. In 1960, the current facility was built. From 1985 to 1998, George W. Leighow, V.M.D assisted his father and continued to work and own the practice. In May,1998, George W. Leighow retired and the practice was purchased by the current owner,Patricia L. Kitchen, V.M.D. The current facility has been remodeled in recent years to accommodate the ever-changing environment in veterinary medicine.
